People who live, work, and spend time in the Landmark/Van Dorn Corridor of Alexandria are invited to join a short walk to talk about the neighborhood and how it shapes their health.
RSVP online to attend the Landmark/Van Dorn Walk & Talk on Saturday, April 26 from 2 – 4 p.m. Walking groups will start at the ALIVE! Food Hub at 510-F S Van Dorn Street, Alexandria, VA 22304.
The event will be hosted by Alexandria Health Department, ALIVE!, NoVA RAFT, the Patrick Henry K-8 School Parent Teacher Association, and the West End Business Association as part of the City’s 2024 Community Health Assessment (CHA). Resident feedback from this event will help identify Alexandria’s top health needs and opportunities. Those results will also guide the City’s next five-year Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).
Leaving from ALIVE!, small groups will walk a one-mile loop around the neighborhood together, sharing their experiences and observations in the area. In addition to using feedback for longer-term planning, City staff will join the walks to hear about immediate challenges and resident suggestions for change.
Refreshments and snacks will be provided. All ages welcome to participate. Interpreters are available upon request. Need help getting to the event? Check out Alexandria’s transit options and information on parking.
